Abstract
Educational practices in the health sector, involving interaction between healthcare professionals and other actors in institutional or community settings, constitute Public Health Education (ECSP). The meaning that these acquire in the Public Health Plan of Collective Interventions (PSPIC) has been little explored. In this context, the objective of this research was to understand the meanings of ECSP practices among six healthcare professionals within the PSPIC of a Colombian municipality, through an ethnographic case study conducted between 2019 and 2020. The findings reveal educational practices recreated with autonomy and ethical commitment in meaningful spaces of empathetic interaction, despite job insecurity, performance-based evaluation, and limitations in the professionals pedagogical training. It is concluded that ECSP practices gain legitimacy in socially vulnerable micro-territories from a perspective of recognition-based justice.
