Abstracts
This essay is based on bell hooks’ philosophy and aims to reflect on the concept of healing based on inner love in bell hooks. The author presents a different understanding of healing as a practice of power, enabling other ways of caring and healing in Mental Health. The results emerge from three categories: a brief passage on the knowledge of healing; who owns healing in the field of Mental Health? and (Re)enchanting Mental Health care using inner love as a device. The focus is on inner love as an instrument that allows us to activate and (re)appropriate the enchanted dimension of healing. We understand that caring for people requires us to escape the traps of both practical and conceptual power relations, making Mental Health care an ethical, political care that perseveres in life.
