Abstract

This experience report describes the professional practices carried out by an interdisciplinary team dedicated to the care of children and adolescents with physical disabilities in a rehabilitation centre in Montevideo, Uruguay. The study is based on a set of questions and experiences accumulated over the years, all related to the rehabilitation processes. The actions deployed by the work team are framed in a biopsychosocial model, based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). The results show that the interventions implemented are not limited to addressing physical limitations, but seek to contribute to a comprehensive approach that considers broader aspects of the development of the lives of children and adolescents.
