Abstract

This article analyses the integration of popular medicines in the Primary Health Care Centre (CAPS) of La Serranita, Córdoba, Argentina, where local traditions are kept alive. Given the absence of integrative health policies in Argentina, the CAPS represents a unique experience of collaboration between local actors and biomedical professionals. The project seeks to validate ancestral knowledge and foster social cohesion, while addressing the challenge of balancing traditional knowledge with evidence-based medicine. This experience not only revises the health system, but also promotes community autonomy and empowerment in the pursuit of wellbeing, with implications for future health policies in the country. The research, based on qualitative methodologies, focuses on medical pluralism in the region.
