Abstract
The entrenched structures running through inequality in Brazil hamper the realization of the right to health. Inequality is experienced primarily by marginalized groups. This study therefore aims to map the living care networks of a Black woman who is a user of a family health center in a peripheral community in João Pessoa, Paraíba. We conducted a qualitative intervention study using cartography, the lead user method and escrevivência (writing lived experience). The findings show that the user was affected by various structures of oppression that constrained her life potential. On the other hand, by tracking her connections, we also witnessed her modes of resistance. The primary conclusion we draw is that when clinical practice embraces patient participation and diversity, it fosters the development of a living, universal and equitable approach.
