Abstract

The District Food and Nutrition Policy was approved in 2021 with the aim of improving the food, nutrition and health of the population of the Federal District (Brazil’s capital). This study evaluates the perception of the health professionals of the Working Group (WG) involved in the formulation of the policy on the actions necessary for its implementation. This is an exploratory, qualitative study which analyzed the responses of 11 nutritionists from the WG to a questionnaire. The textual corpus was submitted to content analysis using the IRAMUTEQ software. Results highlighted the need for management support, financial and human resources, as well as intersectoral action. Social control was pointed out as a limiting factor in the efficient implementation of the policy. Thus, the WG’s vision made it possible to identify priorities that will serve as a basis for supporting the implementation of concrete improvements in food and nutrition policy.
