Abstracts

Interpersonal violence in higher education is common and often hidden, being sustained by power asymmetries that favor silencing. This study describes the interventions of the Dar Voz (Give Voice) project, aimed at addressing teacher-student violence on a dentistry degree course at a public university between 2018 and 2022. This experience report presents a documentary analysis of minutes, field notes and materials produced during the interventions. The target audience included teaching staff and students, and the actions consisted of posters, videos, workshops, a documentary and the creation of subject within the course. The project highlighted previously invisible tensions in teacher-student relationships and contributed to the promotion of social equity. It also fostered student leadership, strengthened ethical coexistence and highlighted the need to improve institutional mechanisms. The subject component stimulated critical and reflective education with political and social repercussions.
