Professional Master’s in Family Health (ProfSaúde): a network teducational experience

Abstract The Professional Master’s in Family Health (ProfSaúde) is a nationwide initiative focused on the education of teachers and preceptors in health for the Brazilian National Health System (SUS). This article shows the innovative characteristic of the course in Collective Health, with a pedagogical conception focused on the subject’s learning and strongly developed through distance education face-to-face meetings meetings. Therefore, we aim at presenting the Profsaúde’s proposal focused on its conceptualization, curricular organization, production of educational material, and operation of the network of education and research institutions. The aim of this study was to analyze teaching-service-community integration in a Dentistry course, based on curricular internships seen in the perspective of health workers, students, users, managers and teachers. Twenty-seven semi-structured interviews were conducted, transcribed and thematically analyzed. The cultural representations about the studied integration are procedurally re-signified from the interactions and clashes between their different agents, enabling the sliding of expressed and shared meanings. Qualitative study, theoretically based on Castel’s “Social Vulnerability” concept and, methodologically grounded on the constructivist perspective of the Grounded Theory. The objective was to understand, from the perspective of the bioecological model of human development, social phenomena experienced by adolescents who were assisted at a reference social assistance center. The strategies used for data collection were observation and interviews in focus groups. The theoretical sampling consisted of ten meetings, which were held between August and December 2015, with twenty adolescents.
